On April 4th, 2022, at approximately 0610hrs, Carlsbad Police Department Officers were dispatched to the area of Presidio and Alabama Street in reference to shots fired. Through the investigation, officers learned that a female was driving down Presidio heading west when a male subject came out of the house close to the intersection of Presidio and Alabama and fired a gun at the female's vehicle. The female quickly reversed her vehicle and was able to get away from the male who fired the gun at her.

Crimestoppers of Eddy County is requesting your assistance in solving an Aggravated Burglary and Larceny of a Firearm that occurred in Eddy County on September 16, 2021.
On September 16, 2021 deputies with the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office responded to Chinaberry Road, Eddy County New Mexico in reference to a report of Aggravated Burglary and Larceny of a Firearm. Upon arrival deputies met with the victim of this incident who was identified as Laurie J. Kincaid.
Mr. Kincaid told deputies that he noticed his house had been broken into from an exterior window and two of his shotguns had been stolen. He described one of the shotguns as a 12 Gauge shotgun with a brown stock and blue steel barrel. Mr. Kincaid described the other shotgun as a magazine fed 410-gauge shotgun with brown stock and blue steel barrel. The total value lost is over $500.00 dollars.
The incident is being investigated by the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division. Any information that leads to the arrest(s) of the individuals involved in this incident could be awarded up to $1,000.00 dollars.

On April 20, 2020 Detectives with the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office responded to a remote location south of Malaga, New Mexico in the county of Eddy in reference to a report of possible human remains being located. Upon arrival Detectives observed several human bones around the location and an investigation into the cause of death of these remains was conducted.
On April 17, 2021 Detectives received notification from The New Mexico Office of Medical Investigator that the skeletal remains were positively identified as forty three year old Brandi J. Fernandez of Carlsbad New Mexico. A reward up to $4,000.00 will be offered for any information that leads to a suspect and or arrest of a suspect.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of S. Thomason Road in regards to an aggravated automobile burglary. Officers learned that someone had entered Edward's vehicle and stole a Kel-Tec US .9mm Sub Rifle 2000 semi-automatic pistol and 30 round magazine.
In the same area, a black 2007 GMC Yukon displaying New Mexico license plate 424WPT was observed at another residence. The unknown suspect fled the area in the vehicle. See the attached photograph.

Michael went on to state a blue 2005 Harley Davidson Blackhawk 240 TMC is still missing. Video footage revealed a grey in color dually pickup truck is seen the night before leaving the property with the motorcycle in question.

Officers responded to Rue 21 in reference to a robbery. Witnesses stated two women entered the store. One was described to be a dark-skinned woman with a diamond-shaped tattoo on her chest, and the other was a light-skinned woman. Both selected approximately $1,000.00 worth of men’s and women’s clothing before the woman with the chest tattoo attempted to pay for the clothing. The second woman flashed a gun and demanded the clothing be bagged up before both women left the store with the items.
One of the women was identified as Eva Mendoza and is wanted for questioning in regards to this case.

Crimestoppers of Eddy County is requesting your assistance in solving an Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
On December 10, 2020 deputies with the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 2800 block of the Pecos Highway in reference to a report of possible stolen vehicle. Upon arrival contact was made with the victim, identified as Patrick Nagel, the owner of a 2017 black Can Am X3. Mr. Nagel reported that the vehicle was taken from his property sometime on December 9, 2020. Patrick stated he had this Can Am for sale, and listed it on Facebook. He stated he had it parked on a trailer next to his camper on US Highway 285. The Can Am was sitting on a trailer, the trailer was still on scene, but the straps that were securing the Can Am were cut and lying on the ground. On July 6, 2020 the Carlsbad Police Department received a report of a structural burglary that took place sometime during the 4th of July weekend at VIP Self Storage, located at 4615 National Parks Highway, Carlsbad, NM. The suspect(s) stole six green US Mint Monster boxes and a black Pelican storage box, both of which contained numerous certified coins and silver bullion. (Please see attached images.)
The value of stolen items is believed to be between $15,000-$20,000.
