Between September 11-20 2016, several vehicle burglaries and stolen vehicles were reported in the 100 block of Copper Junction. Three suspects were observed on surveillance video rummaging through several vehicles as well as driving off in one of the vehicles after obtaining keys from inside. On a later date, the same suspects removed an ATV and a generator from the yard of another victim in the area. The pictured suspect was one of three suspects captured on surveillance video.

The Broussard Police Department is currently investigating two stolen vehicles which occurred on Overbrook Drive off of Albertson Parkway on August 21, 2016 at approximately 3:00am. Video surveillance captured the suspects, two white males and a white female, walking the neighborhood checking for unlocked vehicles. The two vehicles taken were a silver 2013 4dr Jeep Wrangler (License Plate-XJN318) and a brown 2014 Ford F150 4x4 4dr (License Plate-C370425). Both vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside.

On August 16, 2016 at approximately 6:30 a.m. an armed robbery occurred in the early morning hours at 440 Heidi Circle, Lot 94. Video surveillance captured the suspects as they walked the area searching for someone to victimize. The suspects are two black males both average height with a slim build. One suspect was dressed in all black and was armed with a revolver. The second suspect was wearing a white muscle shirt with black pants and was armed with a Tech 9 type weapon. The suspects located a victim, robbed them and fled east on Mire Road.

On September 4, 2016, at approximately 5:00 A.M., Lafayette Police responded to an unresponsive male in the 200 Block of Guidry Street. The 32 year old male victim was located in the roadway and appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. The victim suffered severe injuries and succumbed to those injuries at the scene. The Lafayette Police Department’s Traffic Division is currently investigating the incident as a Hit and Run.

On June 10, 2016 a residential burglary occurred in the 7000 block of Johnston St. A white female arrived at the residence and spoke with the victim about building a fence on her property. While speaking to the victim the white female made a phone call and spoke fluent Spanish. We believe while the white female was engaged in conversation with the resident and unknown number of additional suspects rummaged through the residence, locating a safe containing a large amount of US currency and several items of jewelry. A 20 inch gold rope chain containing a 16 diamond gold crucifix with a filigree background was in the safe.

On June 9th, 2016, at approximately 1:40 am, Lafayette Police responded to shots being fired in the area of 300 Hazel Street. When officers arrived on the scene they discovered Stephen AKA “The General” Phillips lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Phillips would later die from his injuries. Detectives with the Vermillion Parish Sheriff’s Office believe both tractors were stolen between May 10th and May 15th, 2016. The red 2014 Branson 3524R tractor was equipped with a box blade and a front end loader. It was stolen from Aaron Road near Maurice. The John Deere Model 5055 E was stolen from a field in North Central Vermilion Parish near the Indian Bayou area.
